Front cover of The Sphere magazine depicting the seventeen-year-old Princess Mary (later Countess of Harewood), daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, driving from Windsor Castle to Eton on 4 June with Princess Alexander of Teck (formerly Princess Alice of Albany). That summer, the princess was observed by the press to be wearing her hair up and her skirts longer for the first time.
