Details |
The marriage of Princess Mary of Cambridge and Prince Teck: Procession from the church. Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge was the youngest child of Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge and cousin of Queen Victoria. She married Princess Francis of Teck at St. Anne's Church in Kew (her childhood home) on 12 June 1866. The Duke and Duchess of Teck had four children, the eldest of whom was Princess May of Teck, the future Queen Mary, consort of King George V. Illustration shows the wedding procession after the ceremony walking under a striped awning back to the bride's home, Cambridge Cottage. Local school children scattered petals in their path and the newly weds can be seen followed by Queen Victoria escorted by the bride's elder brother, George, Duke of Cambridge.
