Mary Evans Picture Library swells its film archive with the arrival of half a million Everett images

Mary Evans Picture Library, the UK's leading supplier of historical images, can now confidently position itself as a major resource for film history content following the arrival of 500,000 pictures from the Everett Collection in America.

Everett's extensive film material, collated by Morris Everett since 1961, includes movie star portraits, film stills, posters and other ephemera, with special emphasis on Hollywood's Golden Age. This substantial archive is now offered through Mary Evans, with twice as many images available in the UK than ever before.

In addition to Everett, Mary Evans' representation of the superlative Ronald Grant Film Archive is now extended to its UK clients, making the library the essential destination for researchers seeking content on any and all aspects of cinema history. New web search facilities have been put in place on the Mary Evans site to help clients efficiently navigate the wealth of new imagery, with options to search for specifically film content, history content or both.

'We are delighted to expand our film offering so radically,' says Paul Brown, Managing Director at Mary Evans. 'At a time when specialist agencies are disappearing, we are able to combine a comprehensive wealth of imagery with the expertise, knowledge and personalised service for which the library is renowned. We have represented the Ronald Grant Film Archive for some years internationally, but I believe that being able to offer this content alongside the newly-arrived Everett material makes us the leading UK specialist source for film and film history images.'

Representing two such large and prestigious cinema collections complements Mary Evans' remit to offer as wide a range of historical subjects as possible, and fills a gap in the market for those wishing to source history and film in one place.

You can search for your favourite films now at www.maryevans.com, using the 'Cinema images' filter.
