A refreshing change - updated Mary Evans Picture Library website

Mary Evans Picture Library, the UK's leading source for historical images, has a newly updated website, offering improved functionality and a fresh new look.

'In the process of updating our website we had various discussions with a number of our customers,' says Paul Brown, Mary Evans' Managing Director. 'The general feedback about our existing site was very positive with many clients saying nothing needed changing. We did want a new look though and we've taken all comments on board, made tweaks here and there and added a few new ideas and improved the functionality to produce a site which we hope will be an even more rewarding and efficient customer experience.'

A new clear layout makes it easier to edit and filter online searches, while enhancements include the ability to restrict images according to landscape, portrait or square format. Researchers can also choose to sort results showing the most recently added images first. In addition, the home page has had a revamp, making navigation more simple and straightforward, and additional information about the library's history and numerous collections easy to explore.

The familiar burgundy livery - and unique Mary Evans character - remain, but researchers should find these enhancements and refinements make searching through the library's continually expanding content, a smooth and uncomplicated process.

We welcome any feedback on the new site which can be explored at www.maryevans.com.
