Street group of tradesmen and customers, China |
Details |
'Street Groups'. In every city 'these sort of people are to be counted by the thousand'. On the left, 'our venerable friend Ahong', a soup-maker, with a seated customer. In the centre, a public scribe and fortune-teller who is also an oculist, with a lady customer. Behind him, 'one of the begging pests of Kiu-kiang'. Next, a barber, and last, a wood-turner with his customer who is examining a wooden ladle. |
