RMS Titanic - compensation claim of Mrs Herman
RMS Titanic - Second Class passenger and victim Samuel Herman (1862-1912). Letter dated 7 May 1913 from the Public Trustee Office, Strand, London, relating to compensation payments to Mr Herman's surviving family. My committee had Mrs Herman's claim before them and decided that in view of the generous treatment she had received from the American Funds no payment should be made from this fund'. Mrs Herman and their two daughters were also on the Titanic, Mr Herman got them onto a lifeboat, but he lost his own life when the ship sank
