The Peter and Dawn Cope Collection
One of the most visually-attractive collections represented at Mary Evans Picture Library is the archive of local collectors and authors Peter and Dawn Cope. Their collection of colourful children's book illustrations and postcards from the first half of the 20th century, including work by Florence Hardy and Ethel Parkinson sit alongside the 1920s Art Deco style of illustrations from the American women's fashion magazine "The Delineator". This extensive collection also includes illustrations for fairy tales, illustrated alphabets and nursery rhymes by some of the early 20th century's best children's illustrators.
