Whittier Glacier - Alaska

Whittier Glacier - Alaska - Drove up valley as far as first bridge, but stopped as the support logs were rotting. We walked part way til station wagon came along and took us on up. At foot of glacier was a large pond full of icebergs. Many moose tracks and a bever dam. Our guide worked at Elmendorf, led tours, carved walking sticks, panned for gold, hunted and fished - a real Alaskan, originally from Alabama
