Painting by Giuseppe Sogni, of the Empress of Austria Elizabeth of Bavaria, wife of Francis Joseph I. The Empress is wearing a short dress with lace edging, a red cloak lined with ermine, pearl necklace and bracelets and a diadem. She is leaning against a table on which are the crown, the scepter and the globe, symbols of Imperial power. Behind her is the throne. The painting is in the Gallery of Modern Art in Palazzo Pitti in Florence
