27 September 1964 - Cops Came Just As He'd Put On His Q. C. Gown - Out on bail. Mr Bram Fischer, Q. C. photographed with his daughter Lise at their Oacklands home on Saturday morning. Mr Bram Fischer Q. C. Rivonia Trial lawyer who was granted R10, 000 bail on Friday was arrested five minutes before he had to appear in a case last week. Post learnt this when we visited the Fischer home in Oacklands on Friday night. The following day he was due to defend two Indian brothers in the Johannesburg Regional Court who were appearing on charges under the Suppression of Communism Act. Instead, Mr Fischer appeared in the same court, on charges of furthering the aims of the Communist Party; continuing to be a member of the party, and taking part in its activities.
