270 Longmarket Street. In the early 1870's this building was the City in Port Hotel, belonging to L. Torgius. In 1880 it came einto the possession of H.P. Jones and in 1882 it ceased to be a hotel. It is now (1961) Padayachee's fruit and vegetable shop. Mr. Padayachee's grandfather established the business there in 1882, si that it hasbeen run by the same family as a fruit shop for 80 years
