30 October 1966 Tshafendas: I Was A Communist The killer knife. This is the actual knife used by the insane Tshafendas to murder Dr. Verwoerd in the House of Assembly. It was held in the killer's right hand and delivered in an angle, downward direction to inflict four stab wounds, at least two of which were fatal. Dr. Verwoerd must have died instantly.
