April 1978 - The Kapenguria Six - Judge RS Thacker - his famous judgement doomed kenyatta to years in detention. Thacker handed down the maximum sentence allowed by law, and he recommended restriction after the sentence were served. He even publicly lamented that the law did not allow him to give out harsher sentences. Each received the same sentence of seven years imprisonment with hard labour for managing and assisting in managing of Mau Mau and three years for membership thereof.
