August 1976 - The Swaziland Connection - Gail Alexander
August 1976 - The Swaziland Connection - Gail Alexander, pround owner of a sleek, mile-long black Monaco. The only other car like this belonged to King Sobhuza. So the opposition Ngwane National Liberatory Congress Party persuaded Alexander to drive them through the streets at General Election time so the unsophisticated Swazi citizens would think the party had royal blessing. But they lost the election and Alexander was expelled from the Kingdom. (Photograph by Drum Photographer BAHA)
