The Bantu World, founded in April 1932 for an intended audience of black middle-class elite by Bertram Paver, a white ex-farmer. It was the Johannesburg black daily newspaper which published photographer Sam Nzima's iconic image of Hector Pieterson, taken during the Soweto uprisings of June 16, 1976
