Bishopstowe - Bishop's Colenso's home was burnt 1884, The present building was erected by his widow and daughters on portion of the original foundatoins. The figure on the left above, is Mrs Rowles, nee Bonufant. The Bonifants were neighbours of the Colenso's who took refuge with them after the fire. Mrs Rowles, then a small girl, remembers the incdent clearly.
