Bush of Ghosts - Life and War in Namibia 1986-1990 - Exiled family returns to ruined home, Eenhana. 26 July 1989. Eenhana was in the remote east of Owambo, where this family returned to their ruined home in 1989. More recently, mass graves were unearthed near a former South African military base in Eenhana, believed to hold the remains of SWAPO guerrillas, probably from the period of heavy fighting in April 1989. As a result of this find, people have come forward to reveal the presence of many other hidden graves in the area, where civilians secretly buried war casualties
