February 1952 At Bloemfontein Africans Choose Between Convention And Congress Walter Sisulu. In mid December in Batho location, Bloemfontein, the African National Congress held what may prove to be its most important session since its foundation nearly forty years ago. Walter Sisulu, Secretary general, African National Congress: Congress is in fact nationalist and concerned with the national oppression at home.
