February 1963 Nkomo Release The Big Moment Joshua Nkomo steamed back into something like his old glory aboard the 7:35 a. m. from Bulawayo. About 2, 000 ex-ZAPU supporters were at Salisbury Station to greet their ex-leader. Dozens of ex-ZAPU skin hats bobbed about in the crowd. And when the train rolled in and the familiar head poked out of a window wearing the daddy of all skin hats, the chanting of ex-ZAPU songs and chants could be heard blocks away.
