First Government House
First Government HouseThis house was built by the brothers Pistorius early in the forties. When Martin West arrived in Pietermaritzburg in December 1845, to assume duty as the first Lieutenant-Governor of Natal, he resided here for a few months. This house stood on the site now numbered 97 Church Street
