July 1952 Transport Crisis Africans Spend Years Of Their Lives Waiting For Buses, Trains: Queues Get Longer and Longer Mr J. Toli: I have to get up before 5. 30 so that I can have a bite before living. If I'm lucky I get the 6. 15 train. The trains are jammed with people but this isn't as bad as in the evenings. We all nock off about five, so when I get to the station it is already so full in the platform that other people have to wait in the gallary above the platform. I get home about 6. 30.
