July 1960 - Is it higher wages at last? - Lazarus Tabane operates a machine for an oil company in Johannesburg. After an increase his pay went up to £4 11s. 9d. a week and £18 a Month, which meant a lot to him. But then he has to support four children and his mother. A tough business.
