Laying the foundation stone of the old Town Hall by H.R.H. Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh 4 September 1860.The hall was not built till over thirty years later. The soldiers are of the 85th Regiment, Natal Carbineers are seen in the background. The stone is now in the Town Hall, Church Street
