March 14 1965 - Wedding Twist - You've never seen the twist danced like this before - between a bride aged sixty-five on her wedding day and the minister who married her! The twisters are Mrs. Lizzie Gumede and the Rev. Laban Pule Motshabi, who married four old couples at the Bantu Refuge, Germiston, on Friday. Reason for weddings: The refuge is closing down and the old folk will be sent away to different areas, according to their tribes. So, instead of splitting up, eight of them decided to get married.
