March 1960 Mac In The Federation Macmillan met numerous Politicians from Northern Rhodesia, including Kenneth Kaunda, and the Governor, Sir Evelyn Hone. Mr. Harold Macmillans visit to the Federation promised to be hot-spot of his long tour through Africa, and it lived up to its promise. He met with applause, a boycott, a brawl, and a bomb. He met the Federal Premier, obstinate Sir Roy Welensky, and many African leaders. He didnt meet Banda. But his tour was definitely a success.
