March 1971 - New Hope For The Deaf - Cultural dancing to the beat of drumming and the pupils are very good indeed. A visit to the Demostration School for the Deaf at Mampong Akwapim will soon convince those who believe it a waste of time and money to educate the deaf that they could not be more wrong. Only a few years ago the deaf were looked upon as outcasts, but today visitors to the school will find convincing proof to the contrary. (Photograph by Drum Photographer BAHA)
