South Africa, 1976. The Day Our Kids Lost Faith. Children marched, exhibiting the typical school-kid glee of a day out of class, good-naturedly protesting the use of Afrikaans as the medium of instruction in their schools. Their procession began in Naledi Township, at the southwestern end of Soweto, gathering more students along their route towards Orlando East, the north-eastern edge of the sprawling complex.
