May 1968 - Mzee Returns! - Rapturous Crowds Welcome
May 1968 - Mzee Returns! - Rapturous Crowds Welcome Kenyatta as he arrives home after nine years in prison. Jomo Kenyatta alighted, and for two three full minutes he was surrounded by such a huddle of people - politicians, journalists, well-wishers, relatoves and friends- that no-one could move. But, then, after people had pushed themselves apart to form a path, Kenyatta, in brown leather jacket and corduroy trousers, fly whisk waving ceaselessly to the people, moved to the doorway of his house.
