May 1970 Tired But Tough, Helen Fights On Master Piece In Bronze, Mrs Helen Suzman, M. P for Houghton, is one of the few whites to have been honoured by a Drum Masterpiece. Tired but not dispirited, Helen Suzman the lone Progressive Party M. P. whose voice carries over catcalls, and occasionally even apathetic silences as she speaks up in the House of Assembly not oly for her constituents, but also for the voteless people of this country. The messsage she gave Drum is If I am re-elected I will go to the next session of parliament as determined as ever to fight for better conditions for the non-White people, for increased justice for them.
