November 1963 Zimbabwes Big Two Clash Again Ten Thousand ZAPU Followers at Barbourfields Stadium, Bulawayo, Hear Joshua Nkomo ridicule the Rev Sithole. Outside Barbourfields sports Stadium, Bulawayo, the large crowd swelled and buzzed in the hot afternoon. Inside, on an empty patch of ground, a lonely little group squatted, terribly quiet, and huddled a little closer as the mob all around howled insults. The little island of people were ZANU supporters waiting for their leader, the Rev Ndabaningi Sithole. The surroundings masses were also waiting, but not to cheer.
