November 25 1962 - Maritzburg - Two years of hard work was handsome rewarded for four African boy scouts from Newcastle, Natal, when they became the first in the province to achieve Springbok Scout status, which was previously known as the Queen's Badge''. The Divisional Commissioner of Scouts in Natal, Mr. O. E. Emmanuelson (right) presented them with their Springbok Badges at a ceremony in Maritzburg last week.
