Obote Flight Into Exile - Obote In Dar Es Salaam:'There is no question of any takeover. I can tell you I am going back to Uganda after I have had my discussions here. An unannounced and unscheduled Comet airliner touched down at the hectic Dar es Salaam international airport. The time was exactly 2:15 p. m. Tuesday, January 26, 1971. On charter to the East African Airways, the Comet was carrying a special guest of Houner, a fallen champion of the Common Man, Dr Apollo Milton Obote. Unarmed field Force policemen had hurriedly been posted along the airport apron. Airport staff were in a disoederly rush to join the party of hosts. (Photograph by Drum Photographer BAHA)
