October 1954 The Death Of A School One of the first results of the new Bantu Act in South Africa is that one of Africa's most famous schools St. Peter's, Johannesburg, has announced that it will be forced to close down in two years time. The Eton of South Africa as St. Peter's has been called, has had an astonishing record of scholarship achievement in its 32 years. Six ex-students of St. Peter's now work for Drum.
