October 1961 Nkomos Big Fast In Mid-East Nkomo and his executive. Nkomo spent the day meditating others read politics and prayed. Following the tumultuous events of early 1961, the NDP needed new inspiration, new tactics. Nkomo gathered his closest followers and went up into the hills to deliberate. NDP President Joshua Nkomo called together his disciples and went up into the Matopos to re-shape party policy and ponder new strategy.
