William Ayliff (1825-1905). Farmer and Cape politician; 1850-53 he served as a captain in the Port Elizabeth Fingo levy; representative for Fort Beaufort during the years 1864-1869 and 1872-1888; later died at Oak House, Lawrence Street in Grahamstown. Cape M.P. for Fort Beaufort
