Strap end. late-Saxon strap end; the solid silver base has a sunken field covering most of the surfaces, into which is inlaid a sheet-gold panel decorated with symmetrical plant-scroll ornament in twisted filigree wire, punctuated by granules in gold; worn as terminals for girdles or waist-belts; forming a pair, though not identical, with AN1997.57
