Herzogin Cecilie wrecked off Starhole Bay, Devon
The Herzogin Cecilie, a German four mast barque (Windjammer), named after German Crown Princess Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1886-1954), on the rocks off Starhole (Starehole) Bay, near Salcombe, Devon, after one of her many races round the world. She was gradually broken up by the waves, and the remains are still on the seabed
