Group Captain Sir Douglas Robert Steuart Bader (1910-1982), RAF pilot during the Second World War despite having lost both legs in a crash in 1931. He was portrayed by Kenneth More in a feature film, Reach for the Sky, released in 1956. Seen here taking part in a TV interview on a golf course at Falmouth, Cornwall
