Men praying int the mosque in the Haji Bektash Veli Museum in Nevsehir Turkey. Normally Bektashi tekke's never have a mosque within the grounds of a tekke, monastery. In 1826 Sultan Mahmud the Second decided to close all the Bektashi Tekkes because the Janissary were all followers of Haji Bektash and several times had removed the sultan. Sultan Mahmud the Second has kept this tekke open because of his respect for Haji Bektash Veli but he ordered a mosque built in the tekke
