The Fall of the Flag refers to the W.S.P.U leaders trial for conspiracy in May 1912. Emmeline Pankhurst, Emmeline Pethick Lawrence and her husband Frederick were charged with inciting others to carry out criminal acts - damage to 54 windows in March 1912. All were found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment
