Nell Kenney Suffragette. Sarah Ellen (Nell) Kenney (1876-1953) portrait. Nell Kenney was elder sister of Annie, Jessie, Caroline and Jane. Born in Lees, Lancashire, and worked in cotton mills from an early age. Became a member of the W.S.P.U and local organiser in the West Midlands. Met Frank Randall Clarke at a suffragette rally. Married him in 1908-9, and they emigrated to Canada
