Suffrage Pilgrimage N.U.W.S.S 1913. In June 1913, members of the N.U.W.S.S set off, mostly on foot, to show the people of Britain, not all those campaigning for the Vote were militants intent on arson and violence. From eight main routes, pilgrims would arrive in London on 26th July. Marchers on the Great North Road arrived in Barnsley on 3rd July 1913
