Suffragette Arson Rivington Pike. The ruins of the bungalow built by William Hesketh Lever, the industrialist and soap magnate, at Rivington Pike, near Bolton. It was burnt down by a lone, militant suffragette, Edith Rigby (1872-1949) on 7th July 1913. She confessed to the police, was convicted and sentenced to nine months hard labour
