Suffragette Charlotte Despard Arrested 1909. Shows Mrs. Charlotte Despard (1844-1935) and Mrs. Cobden Sanderson (1853-1926) standing outside 10. Downing Street, waiting to confront Prime Minister Asquith. They were both arrested on 19th August 1909, probably by the policeman marked by a cross. His name was Superintendent Cresswell Wells A Division Metropolitan Police
