Suffragette Demonstration Deputation Workers Keir Hardie

A souvenir tissue commemorating the deputation to Prime Minister Henry Campbell-Bannerman and the demonstration in support of Womens Suffrages (sic) by campaigners and working men and women, 19th May 1906. The members of the deputation included Mrs.Wolstenholme Elmy, Mrs Pankhurst, Mrs.Pethick-Lawrence, Annie Kenney and Keir Hardie, who assembled at the Foreign Office. Others taking part included Margaret Ashton, Eva Gore-Booth of the Lancashire and Cheshire Textile and Other Workers Representation Committee, and Mrs.Gasson of the Women's Co-operative Guild. Later in Trafalgar Square, the first big open-air Women's Suffrage meeting in London was held
