Suffragette Deputation June 1909 Programme

A souvenir and programme announcing the Deputation to the Prime Minister, Asquith, at the House of Commons on Tuesday June 29th, 1909, at 8 p.m. Portraits of leading figures, including the Pankhursts, Mrs. Pethick-Lawrence, Flora Drummond, the Kenney sisters and many others, together with a border of purple violets decorate the paper. Mentions Marion Wallace-Dunlop's marking the stonework of St. Stephen's Hall, Westminster, with a passage from the 1689 Bill of Rights, and how it took two men over two hours to remove the violet stains with pumice stone, soap and water.
