Suffragette Drum and Fife band - Lantern Slide
Suffragette Drum and Fife band - the first composed entirely of women. They are pictured advertising the Women's Exhibition, which took place at Prince's Skating Rink, Knightsbridge, London from 13-26 May 1909. The exhibition was organised by the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) and aimed to not only raised funds but raise awareness of the cause. The rink's walls were decorated with vast canvases painted by Sylvia Pankhurst
