Suffragette Militant Money Box 1913

A suffragette money box in the form of a papier mache red pillar box with removable base. When a penny is posted in the letter box a figure of a woman pops up. She has a necklace of Votes, wears a purple dress and holds a Votes for Women flag. Her tongue is sticking out and as she pops out, she emits a slight squeak. On the inside lid is written Militant Souvenier (sic). On the pillar box is a brown paper label with Xmas 1913. Made in Germany. Height 18cm
