: Suffragette Trampling on Policeman Ceramic

Suffragette Trampling on Policeman Ceramic

A gloriously victorious suffragette stands with arms outstretched on the head of a prostrate policeman. She is dressed in the colours of the W.S.P.U - purple, white and green, waves an umbrella above her head and carries a Votes for Women placard around her neck. The policeman has lost his helmet, his authority and his dignity! The piece dates from 1909 and elements are very similar to a contemporary postcard entitled Suffragists on the War Path'. One suffragette is screaming Jump on him, He is only a mere man whilst another does just that
