Suffragette W.S.P.U Holiday Campaign Kent. Eight members of the Women's Social and political Union or Gypsy Wanderers set off from Lincoln's Inn on 9th August 1913, to spread knowledge of our splendid paper The Suffragette through the highways and by-ways of Kent'. The Gypsy Queen was Lilly McDonnell, and the group travelled in a decorated cart pulled by a horse nicknamed Asquith'. They stopped in Halstead, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells
